1.1 Introduction Tuberculosis (TB) is a highly infectious disease that affects the lungs although the effects of this disease can be felt almost in any part of the body. The infection is airborne and is caught directly from someone with a communicable TB in their throat or lungs. Although the disease is spread through the air when infected people sneeze or cough, it requires a close and lengthy contact with uninfected person to acquire the ailment. It is unlikely that one can catch TB on public transport or open space because there is sufficient circulation of air. In addition, not everyone with Tuberculosis of the lungs is infectious and with proper treatment and care, most patients can become non-infectious. While anyone can catch TB, some people are more vulnerable and at higher risk than others (Dyer, 2010). These…
