For this field experience, observe the classroom (may watch videos) focusing on English Language Arts (ELA), social studies and the arts lessons. Specifically address how he or she teaches the five components of reading (attitude/motivation, reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and phonological awareness/phonics), and his or her methods for differentiating for students at different levels. Connect these differentiation methods to a specific need (due to disability, developmental delay, bilingual language development, or another specific issue).
Write a 250-500 word reflection summarizing what you learned from your observations, your conclusions from the experiences, and how you can apply what you learned toward your future practice as a teacher. Include an analysis of developmentally appropriate instruction as it pertainsto your observation.
