Ivan Pavlov was a Russian physiologist who is best known for his work on classical conditioning, which is a type of learning in which an animal or person learns to associate a particular stimulus with a particular response. In his famous experiments on dogs, Pavlov conditioned the dogs to salivate at the sound of a bell by ringing the bell every time he fed the dogs. Over time, the dogs learned to associate the sound of the bell with the arrival of food, and they would salivate at the sound of the bell even when no food was present.
