Mass Disaster Assignment

For this Assignment, write a 3–5 page paper, including a title page and reference page, describing an imaginary crime scene of a mass disaster and plan a team approach to the examination of that scene. Describe all of the appropriate specialized personnel that should be present at the scene/disaster and what they should contribute to the investigation.

It is midnight on September 2 and a call comes in reporting multiple gunshots followed by a massive explosion on 14 Street, in a nightclub in New Orleans. Officer George responds to the signal and becomes the first to arrive at the scene of the crime. Upon his arrival, he is shocked to see multiple casualties that could not be identified. The body parts were scattered all over the place. It was later established that over fifty people had been killed in this crime scene. Officer George’s first duty is to radio and call for backup. As he does that, he tries to secure the site and attempt to identify if there are any survivors that need medical attention. George is careful not to touch anything when securing and checking the club to find out if there are any survivors.
