K-12 classroom teachers play a pivotal role in identifying students with exceptional learning and behavioral requirements. Once these students are recognized, the teachers engage in response to intervention (RTI) process with the aim of providing support to the students. The effectiveness of RTI implementation is dependent on the identification process which is a multi-tier approach. At the tier one stage (RTI level one), all students learn at almost the same level. However, some students are above average while others fall slightly behind and may need intervention.  Once proper measures are put to intervene on their needs, students at tier one are likely to show impressive progress and returned to the general classrooms. At level two, the learning levels of these students lag well behind those of their peers. Upon screening, the students to record unsatisfactory progress and will require more intervention.
