Hearsay rule can be defined as a rule of evidence that does not allow use of testimonies or documents in a court of law as evidence when the maker of the said documents/ statements is not before the court. In that case, such information is treated as second hand information as it is not based on facts. The absence of the person who knows what is contained in the documents, makes the evidence null and void. Such evidence cannot be cross examined which sometimes is seen as a move to deprive one party of their justice. The rules of evidence argue that hearsay should not have any use in a court system due to probability of carrying little trust. This is compounded by lack of cross-examination from the main source of information.
