Creating the Strategic Plan:

Throughout this Course HSC/531 Health Care Strategic Management we will be creating a Strategic Plan for your chosen organization.

A strategic plan is designed to be used for 3 to 5 years or more. For your individual Strategic Plan project, you will write a strategic plan using the following plan throughout this course.

You may choose a health care organization you would like to focus on or develop a new health care business. Choose something you are passionate about and may implement in the future. It is recommended that if you choose to work with an existing organization that you add a new program or project to your plan.

Suggestions for appropriate new projects include a new program or service for an existing organization, a new product line for an existing business, a new joint venture or acquisition, a new health care payer model for a state, or a new health care business.

Select a health care organization you would like to focus on.
Research your chosen organization\’s governing structure.

Assignment Requirements – Week One
1. Create a Title and Title Page for your Strategic Plan.
(Hint: Suggest you use each one of the following requirements as headings. The overall plan will need to include headings of Levels 1 and 2 – for reference see Headings in recommended Learning Activity.)

2. Complete: The Introductory statement
3. Identify and Describe: Chosen organization (New or existing, size, stakeholders, organization\’s main business or purpose).
4. Identify and Describe: Stakeholders and their roles within the organization.
5. Identify and Describe: Main purpose for the business
6. Describe: the benefits of creating this Strategic Plan for the Organization.
Add the Reference page and begin filling in references used this Week. Note: The reference list will continue to grow each week as we add the additional sections to the Strategic Plan.
Cite a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar resources to support your information. Be sure to use in-text citations and begin to create the Reference List at the end of the Strategic Plan.

Introduction  Children continue to die due to cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Since 1970, the pediatric cancer rates in the country have been increasing steadily. These cancers constitute 1% of all the cases in America. Moreover, pediatric cancer is among the leading causes of death in children between the ages of 1-14 (Isaevska, 2017). The year 2018 recorded approximately 10,590 new childhood cancer cases, and among these children, 1180 died in the same year. These statistics show that something must be done to alleviate the suffering of children and reduce the deaths associated with the condition.
