Egg donation has become a common phenomenon in the US. According to the CDC, about 12% of all the IVF cycles in the US which translates to close to 16,000 a year involve eggs that have been retrieved from a donor (Sándor, 2018). Furthermore, for all fertility treatments, donor-egg IVF recorded the highest rate of success. There are, however, many adverse side effects that egg donors have coupled to ethical dilemmas associated with the payment caps established by different states, as will be shown in this task.

Whether the $ 10,000 cap set by California State is enough
