Scholarly journals are meant to share research findings, theories, and ideas, and more important to help scholars stay updated about current developments in their field or discipline (Nicholas et al., 2015).  Therefore, scholarly journalsfocus on methodology, theory, original research, and experimentation.  Peer-reviewed journals, on the other hand, meet all the criteria of scholarly journals but, before publication, the content goes through iteration and a process of feedback (Marusic, 2019).
