The primary purpose of assistive technology is to make life easier for students, especially those living with disability. The devices are used to maintain, improve, or increase capabilities of students to read, write, and communicate. There are different AT that a teacher or a paraprofessional can use in classroom including devices such as computer, speech to text tool, electronic tablet, and portable word processor (Dell, Newton & Petroff, 2016). These technologies are important because they enable teachers to carry out their day to day activities at ease. This paper seeks to explain how I will implement the use of computerized devices to enhance the writing and reading skills of students.
Tablet and laptop devices are critical for students experiencing learning disabilities because they are readily available, lightweight, and portable. For instance, implementing this technology may assist students with handwriting difficulties to improve the quality and quantity of their notes.
