ASSIGNMENT | HR PERSPECTIVES ASSIGNMENT

HR PERSPECTIVES ASSIGNMENT (20%)-DUE WEEK 11- July 28^th 2020

Objective: Strengthen your understanding of our course learning outcomes by sourcing different perspectives about HR, reporting about and summarizing what you’ve read, sharing your critical perspective, and reflecting on your learning experience.

 Learning Outcomes:

   . Research at least 3 different literature sources (example of literature sources-see point #1. below) that relate to 1 or more of our course learning outcomes and topics.

• Report on and summarize each article and the HR perspective(s) it takes
• Share 2-3 critical perspectives of your own about the concepts presented
• Reflect on your/the group’s overall research experience and outline key learnings

 Requirements:

 Research literature that relates to any of the topics covered in class and the course learning outcomes (see Course Outline). Ideally each article should relate to one specific subject or concept under each topic, and have a theme. You can stick with one topic, or explore different ones.

 Examples:

 Topic: Health and Safety

Subject: WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board)

Theme: new legislation

 Topic: Performance Management

Subject: Performance reviews

Theme: new ways companies are conducting performance reviews

 Number of Articles needed:5 per group

    1.Select your articles/chapters/blogs/posts from any or all of following literature sources:

• Online from reliable sources. Refrain from using simple web sources like Wikipedia.
• Journals or other publications
• Chapter from a text
• A copy of the article (or web link) must be included in your report.
• For each of the articles, summarize the main points (in your own words) and explain how the article is related to the topic and its overall significance (to Human Resources, workplaces, organizations etc.). This should be no more than one page for each.
• After you complete your reviews, comment on what you learned from this exercise summarize your/your group’s perspective on the learning experience overall.
