The strategy applied for vocabulary instruction largely depends on the English proficiency of the learner. ELLs with different proficiencies will require different vocabulary tiers and different instructional approaches (Carter & McCarthy, 2014).
One strategy that is applicable for teaching English vocabulary to ELLs is to use visual aids. Visual learning methods create a way through which students can learn new words in a more exciting way.
