In a “protected time” nurses take the initiative to ensure that the baby is cleaned and placed on the father’s chest to allow for intimate and tender contact (Huang, Chen & Zhang, 2019). The sensitization will provide the parents with an opportunity to make more informed decision on implementing proper skin to skin contact.
