The Relationship Between Academic Integrity and Writing
Academic integrity and writing are intertwined and both must be promoted concurrently in scholarly pursuits. Academic integrity is being committed to and espousing honesty and moral behavior within the academic environment. Academic integrity requires that individuals give credit to other scholars’ works or acknowledge their contributions whenever they use ideas that are not their own (Jamieson & Howard, 2019). The opposite is academic dishonesty and is considered plagiarism.
Academic integrity should be practiced in all academic writings. It is the only sure way to producing original work.
