Introduction
It is no doubt that America has had to bare the wrath of the growing incidents of war crimes globally. As much as security has become a global concern, the role of the United States has continued to change in order to meet the global security demands. The responsibility that comes by being a superpower has thus continued to be witnessed from one regime to another as security concerns form the pillar of any campaign pledges for the US political space (Klare 2002). Compounded by foreign policies and economic plans, the war on terrorism within and beyond the American boarders has defined who becomes the US president since the 1950’s. The magnitude of such concerns only implies that it is clear that the international policing role and strategy of the United States during the Cold War has become even more necessary in this period of terrorism and instability.
