Assignment | case study ethical analysis

In this assessment, you will use the following case study and analyze an ethical dilemma within it, based on the application of ethical principles. Think of this ethical analysis as a report you would make in a professional context.
Case Study: Religion, Business, & Law: Aalia, a young Muslim-American woman, applied for a job in an elite jewelry store. Aalia, demonstrated her extensive knowledge of jewelry during the interview, and was hired. She wore a hijab (headscarf) to the interview. During the interview, she was not asked about her attire, and she also did not mention requiring a religious accommodation when she was hired. When she arrived for her first day of work to sell jewelry, she was told that she could not wear a head covering while on the floor serving customers. She informed her employer that she would not remove the hijab, and it was required of her by her religion to wear it at all times while in public. Her employer informed her that due to store policy, while they could not allow her to work in the front of the store, they could move her to a bookkeeping position in the office where she would be away from customers. Aalia, who had applied to sell jewelry was not interested in the bookkeeping position and felt the employer\’s request was a violation of her rights. She enlisted the services of an attorney to determine her legal rights.
