One of the strategies that I will utilize to teach vocabulary to the English Language Learner is the ability to modify the content or learning instructions to enhance clarity.  Content is a work frame item in which the instructor uses to reflect his or professionalism standards that are required in a given discipline (Smith, Teemant & Pinnegar, 2004). Assessing student based on content is important because it evaluates the knowledge of the learner which is crucial in engaging and improving their learning outcomes. Modify for clarity is focused on making the language as well as the context of learner’s assessment to be as clear and simple as possible (Smith et al., 2004). With the help of the content checklist, the instructor is able to carry out practical assessment geared towards better understanding of the student strength and weaknesses. Consequently, the instructor uses this criterion to teach vocabulary through setting targets and goals for a learner.
