Whistleblowers are people who expose misconduct of a fellow employee or senior management through anonymous reporting methods usually known as hotlines. Some whistleblowers disclose the information to their superiors while others put this information out there for the public through the press or the media (Dussuyer, Armstrong & Smith, 2015). They are usually taken to court with accusations of criminal charges and also the termination of their jobs. To stop this, there are some laws that have been set to protect them.
