In 1950 after the World War II, a new age of prosperity in the United States commenced following a large number of soldiers who returned to their homes. These men settled and started their families in the suburban areas in the country. However, women stayed at home as they were expected to take care of their children while men were the sole provider for the family. Beyond the primary role as the sole provider for the family, men had not only a great responsibility but also they held a great power in decision making. This event had a significant contribution to the feeling of male superiority.
