Teaching of a second language can be one of the hardest thing that a teacher can content with. Such teachers have to device strategies that will ensure that the intended goal of any lesson is attained to the latter. Second language in this case refers to any language that students learn in addition to their own language of instruction. In the US, the number of second language learners has grown tremendously which calls for recruiting more teachers. But how well are such teachers prepared to handle the challenges that come with teaching second languages?
