Four Direct Materials Used to Make Toothpaste
There are many brands of toothpaste across the world. However, every toothpaste is made from the following materials/ ingredients: abrasives (such as hydrated silica) which help scrub the outside of teeth to loosen particles that could be on the teeth, binders that are meant to make the toothpaste thick and hence prevent possible separation of solid and liquid components (Gadkari, Randive, Venkat, Betrabet & Kadam, 2018). The third material is sudsers, which help form bubbles by lowering the surface tension of water and lastly humectants which add a coolness as well as sweetness to the paste.
