Candidiasis
Candidiasis is among the common fungal diseases that are found in the immunocompromised individuals with its epidemiology mutating over the last couple of years. The uses of therapy strategies and antifungal agents have caused a variation of Candida species resulting in invasive infections. There are more than 200 species of candida, but it has been established that only 20 of them cause infections. Of these 20, Cabdida Albicans is the most common. The disorders are widespread among persons with weak immune systems which are caused by among other factors HIV/AIDS, diabetes, corticosteroids and medications used for an organ transplant (Cleveland et al., 2015).
