Case One:

A mother of an 18 month-old child tells you that she is very concerned about her son’s lack of interest in playing with others. She states he can be in the room where other children are but does not interact at all and gets quite upset if another child tries to use a toy he is playing with. She tells you that she encourages him to share but he does not respond to this and just cries or pulls the toy away from the other child.
