The Individual with Disability Act (IDEA) demands that every student that has a physical challenge and hence entitled to a special education must have an education program designed to meet his/her individual needs. The program is also essential for the school since it outlines measures and standards that have to be met to address the specific needs of students. Additionally, it helps achieve the student’s educational goals. The IEP team is composed of the child’s teacher, the parent, the special education teacher, professionals and the child whenever possible.
