            From episode one of The Raising of America, the government has not invested enough in parents. Some parents confess to survive stressful times due to lack of compensation on maternal leaves. Sadly, American children have been found to fare worse than less developed countries. Indeed, American society has the potential of performing better in the medical, educational and economic sectors. This episode implies a sense of developmental inequality by victimizing children and parents to economic and emotional distress.             The future of American society is dependent on the quality of parental care at the early stages of child development.
